The FIFA Football World Cup till now has been a revelationy,the worlds greatest sports extravaganza.Everybody supporting their own team and personal heroes.This is it. After years of planning and worrying, the first World Cup on African soil has lived upto the expectation!!!!!

Netherlands have played the aggresive football in teh second half and have got the dividends....Brazil had a lapse in concentration form two set plays and they paid the price...Brazil did not play badly,they were just a little unlucky...and then they tried to be aggresive,but lost their way after the RED CARD .....still the Dutch deserved to win and thats why they are in the Last four..

GHANA have to be considered the most unlucky team in this football world cup 2010....1-1...EXTRA TIME....2nd half ET....stoppage time...BAM...."HAND OF GOD"......Suarez has done the New hand of God..lol....he wanted to save the match,cz if that had gone in,then its DONE and DUSTED for Uruguay and wanted to give it a chance in teh penalties.....but still Ghana had a chance....Gyan stepped up to take the penalty......and then Boom...over the cross bar...sadness....he just fell to the ground after that...!!!....penalty shoot out.....3-3...then sadns...the captain of ghana...such a small run up for a penalty..and missed..but uruguay also misses one...but the Uruguay keepe saves the next one...and uruguay convert the desicive penalty and WIN..!!!!

Spain had the going tough against Paraguay.....both stuggled with their finishes..but this match was full of chances....but mostly rembered for the Penalty misses........paraguay gets the first penalty and the great Iker cassilas saves brilliantly...within minutes......spain is awarded a penalty.....xavi alonso steps up and converts,but refree rules against because an over enthusiastic sapiniard player comes into the box before the penalty gets converted....so retake penalty..xavi misses it this time,keeper saves it..!!!!!..SPain keep on pushing...and then in 82nd minute.....Iniesta's brilliant run results in a david villa rebound and the way Villa converts it is simply superb..he saves it again for SPAIN...!!!

Well The last quaterfinalist is GERMANY...Many are fans here of teh german game.......and the way they played was simply superb....the passing....defending.....finishing....alll....brilliant...argentina was left speechless and maradona was left in tears.........nobody predicted this score line..cz both teams were in brilliant form...and germany just took that a notch up....this was actually a grudge match for Argentina..cz 2006 quatrfinals, germany defeats argentina on penalties and then after that came the verbal spat and also fites between the teams......then in 2008 after a friendly encounter,maradona was at a press conference representing argentina and Muller(the n ew one)..was representing Germany...Maradona walks off teh stage,tells publicly to all to rmeove muller from the satge...arrogance..lol...Muller answered him back saying he dosent care and the best way to do it is by getting a win over them...and They did it..cheero germany..!!!

Well..It Has come down to the this..THE FINAL SHOWDOWN...EUROPE is gonna lift the world cup....Will it be HOLLAND...Will it be SPAIN...!!!!


The semi-finals were as thrilling as teh knock-out rounds...

the first semi-final was between Holland and Uruguay....Giovanni van bronchost scored a SCREAMER...the goal from 39 yards...top corner..simply superb.....and then Diego forlan(former Manchester United striker)..scoreda fantastic goal....but Holland were in Command all the way....and the ever resilient Wesley sneijder scores his 5th goal of theis world cup....he is on par with david villa for most goals...but the death blow came from ARjen robben..whom everybody thought cannot score off his HEAD..had scored the required goal...even though Uruguay pulled one back to make it 3-2...it was all over by then.....HOLLAND in their first world cup finals since 1978..Will they do it this time???


Second semi-final was between SPAIN vs Germany...The UNDER-ACHIEVERS in all the world cups till now,having never made it past teh Q/F stage made it to their FIRST EVER FINAL....this was probably the most Hyped up,most anticipated match up of the competition....Spain defeatd Germany in EURO 2008 finals and this was a grudge match for Germany..They wanted to win this at any cost..Even PAUL THE OCTOPUSS had predicted a Spanish win..and it was upto them to prove all wrong...The match started Tentatively...both teams played cautiously...then slowly Spain uped the tempo and made germany scramble...they kept on pushging,even though Germany ahd the chances,spain was the more dominant force...THEN CAME THE DECISIVE STRIKE...Carlos Puyol..The old guard..came rushing in for a corner and headed home a thunder of a HEADER in the 79th minute...It was enough for the SPANISH....then came the Gritty defending to the fore...germany tried desperately for a equaliser,but couldnt find it and Thus came the end to the GERMAN FAIRY TALE.....

MANY DEUSTCHLAND supporters here...disspaointed..but have heart..Germany Played absolutely brilliant Fooootball...


So now Its SPAIN vs HOLLAND.....WHO WILL GO THE DISTANCE..WHO HAS THE HEART TO CLINCH GLORY FOR THEIR COUNTRY...WAIT AND WATCH....JULY 11...DONT GO ANYWHERE...CANCEL ALL YOUR PLANS.!!!

WHY??..COZ THIS IS THE FINALS..THIS IS WHAT ITS ALL ABOUT...!!!!!

Who won the 2010 World Cup final in South Africa?

Spain became the 2010 World Cup champion after Andres Iniesta hit a dramatic winner in the 116th minute of extra time. Spain’s delicate touch overcame the rough house tactics employed by the Dutch. The 2010 World Cup football final was a tense and bad-tempered match that produced 14 yellow cards with Holland’s Johnny Heitinga sent off in the 109th minute after picking up a second yellow card.

Overall, the final 2010 World Cup result was justified as Spain was definitely the better team although Arjen Robben could have put Holland in the lead if he had converted a one-on-one chance.

With Spain and Holland heading for a penalty shootout in a game of few clear chances, Iniesta struck to give the Euro 2008 champions the lead. It was from a through ball by Arsenal’s Cesc Fabregas that midfielder Iniesta struck making Spain the first team to win a World Cup after losing their opening game of the tournament. Holland was lucky not to be a man down after Nigel de Jong’s flying karate kick to the chest of Xabi Alonso in the 28th minute was not severely punished by referee Howard Webb.

A few World Cup records were recorded by Spain on their way to their victory in South Africa. Spain became the only third team after Germany and France to hold both the European Championship and World Cup together. Spain too became the team to win the World Cup by having scored the fewest number of goals. Spain managed to score only eight goals in their seven matches.

Spain is also the first team to win a World Cup after losing their opening game of the FIFA World Cup finals in 2010. Webb got himself into the World Cup record as well when he produced a new record number of bookings for a World Cup final...!!!

Uruguay striker Diego Forlan earned the Golden Ball as the World Cup's top player in a vote by international media.

Forlan received 23.4% of the vote, ahead of Dutch midfielder Wesley Sneijder and Spain striker David Villa, who won the Silver and Bronze Balls, respectively.

Each player had five goals, as did Germany's Thomas Mueller, who won the Golden Boot as scoring champion because of his three assists, the tiebreaker for that trophy.

Forlan, who won the Europa League with Atletico Madrid this spring, led Uruguay to a surprising fourth-place finish. He was inches away from sending Saturday's third-place match against Germany into extra time, but his free kick struck the crossbar. Forlan had earlier scored to give Uruguay a 2-1 lead - bouncing his volley off the ground and into the German net.
